Scout sections
The Scouting game is based on the game vision SCOUTS and the range of activities is elaborated in activity areas, always appropriate for the level and age of the children. In this way, they grow in their personal development. Within each activity area, fun, educational and challenging activities can be devised for all age groups in a continuous line from Beavers to Roverscouts. This is also known as the progression matrix.
Scout sections
Within a Scouting group, there are different age-specific sections in which children play their games: beavers, cubs, scouts, explorers, and rovers. On the various section pages, you can find information about the specific section.
Girls and boys
There is an increasing focus on girls in Scouting and on having mixed-gender units , in order to better align the program offered with the expectations of scouts.
Non-formal learning
At Scouting, children and young people learn a lot through the stimulating environment and challenging activities, without even realizing it because fun and social interaction are central. The non-formal way of learning at Scouting is situated between formal learning (in school, with established goals and requirements) and informal learning (spontaneous, in daily life).
